I was appalled by the reaction of the American colonies after the
closure of the Port of Boston.
I am very much a liberal myself but I still think the proper course of
action was to kill every man, woman, child and beggar in the town.
One of the reasons theft is so common in the USA is because precedents
were not set when they should have been applied.
Zero tolerance for piracy at low ebb might have saved the tax shirking
Bostonians a lot of trouble later down the line.
"We don't want to pay for the biggest navy in the world"
Seems to have come back to haunt them.
